We had quite the Thanksgiving evening after a great dinner at Poppi and Grammy's. I tried to go to sleep on the couch (I've been sleeping there because of my pulled muscle in my side). Dave was in the bedroom sleeping already. I shifted slightly on the couch to get more comfortable and something on my left side went "POP" and I was in tremendous pain. I was afraid to move and tried to decide if I should get up on my own or not. Finally, I woke Dave up, who pulled me off the couch. I couldn't really move the pain was so bad. Dave got me into the recliner and we tried to ice the muscles, but then decided we should just call 911. So, at about 1am, 4 fireman showed up at the house and checked me out. Then the ambulance arrived and took me to the hospital. It was really painful driving in the bumpy ambulance. You'd think that they'd make those things with great shocks!!
Anyway, the hospital checked out the babies (who are totally fine!) and gave me a shot for pain. Dave and I got home at 4am and Dave tucked me into the recliner to get a little bit of sleep.
Today, the hospital bed came and Dave got some more supplies at the local medical supply store (cane, rail for bed). That plus the grabber is helping me recover. there's no way to know if I broke a rib, dislocated one, or just really injured soft tissue without having an xray. And, the treatment is the same for all of those anyway - rest. So, maybe in 4 weeks, I'll be all healed and ready to "officially" be on bedrest!
At least Dave got to feel one of the babies move. One of the twins - B or C - gave him a few good kicks/pokes. In this picture, my hand is on the spot where the baby reached out to touch him!
